New York: St. Martin's Press, 1980. First American edition of his first book. Reportedly published in an even smaller printing than the British edition. A fine copy in fine dust jacket. Signed by Barnes on the title page. Barnes has also written on the title page "$10.95 in 1980, $40 in 1990, ?? in 2000." He was apparently commenting on the prices the book had commanded since its publication. A very nice copy.
