McPHEE, John
The Survival Of The Bark Canoe
New York: Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 1975. First edition. A fascinating book from this brilliant and eclectic writer who never fails to write interesting books about mundane topics. In this case his subject is the making of bark canoes, their history and has echoes of Thoreau. A very good plus copy with some foxing to the edges in a very good plus price-clipped dust jacket. Still, a presentable copy of one of his seemingly less common titles.
