London: Faber and Faber, 1964. First edition. Hardcover. First British edition. Olsen's first book, a collection of four stories. A near fine copy in an about very good dust jacket that has some wear, is lightly soiled and with a couple of small staple holes to the top of the front flap. Signed and inscribed by Olsen (in a tiny script) "For Anthony Boucher- years of indebtedness- Golden Voices- Borges - Opera Review- Escape - Be well, Tillie Olsen July 14th (Bastille Day!)" The recipient was an important author and editor and in part very well known as the first English translator of Jorge Luis Borges. A very nice association.
