Santa Cruz, CA: Kayak, 1974. First edition. Softcover. 40 pages. A collection of poems. A very near fine copy in wrappers with some minor sunning to the spine and edges. Signed and inscribed by Carruth to Juliet Rago and her second husband Robert in the year of publication. Laid in is a wonderful typed letter from Carruth to Juliet Rago in which he talks about her husband Henry Rago, congratulates her on her new marriage and laments his lack of money. Even more poignant, Carruth's poverty is demonstrated by his reusing a piece of paper for the letter. Carruth was briefly the editor in chief of Poetry Magazine and was succeeded by Henry Rago. A terrific association copy.
