London: Michael Joseph, 1963. First British edition. Hardcover. 446 pages. A coming of age novel of a young Jewish immigrant in New York. The book largely languished in obscurity until Irving Howe's article in the New York Times of 1964. A tight near fine copy in an about good price clipped dust jacket with a number of small edge tears with some tape repairs to the verso and some chipping to the spine ends. Still, a nice copy of this important book.
