Landscapes for the Homeless (Signed First Edition).
Hanover, Germany: Sprengel Museum, 1996. First edition. Hardcover. First printing. 88 pages. From the library of New Topographics photographer Joe Deal with his rubber stamp to the front free endpaper. A deeply depressing collection of 49 color images by Hernandez taken throughout the Los Angeles area that captures the places where the homeless reside, often on the fringes of society. Includes a conversation between Hernandez and Lewis Baltz. A near fine copy with some very faint foxing to the top of the page edges in a very near fine dust jacket. Signed and inscribed by Hernandez on the title page to photographer Joe Deal. A nice association copy of this powerful book. (Parr & Badger v3, 173).
