Tokyo: Rat Hole Gallery, 2008. First edition thus. Hardcover. One of only 1000 copies. A revised edition of what is widely considered one of the best photography books of the last 50 years. Text in Japanese and English with an afterword by Akira Hasegawa translated by Yuri Tsuzuki. A haunting collection of black and white photographs, many of which were taken from a train window as Fukase went to visit his childhood home after his divorce. The images of ravens mirror his despair. A very near fine copy in black cloth boards with an almost imperceptible bit of sunning to the spine in a near fine slipcase with a small band of sunning as well. No dust jacket as issued. A beautifully printed book.
