While Szarkowski might be better known for his years as a curator and director emeritus of the Department of Photography at the Museum of Modern Art he was an equally accomplished photographer. Includes 75 tritone plates with 15 text illustrations. A clean and tight near fine copy in a near fine dust jacket. Signed very nicely inscribed by Szarkowski on the half title page and with laid in related ephemera. A very nice copy as the recipient is a curator, author and photo-historian.
