A tight near fine copy in paper covered boards with a cloth spine and with the mailing label of Wilbur Pell affixed to the front free endpaper and in very near fine dust jacket. Signed and very warmly inscribed by Turow on the title page: "for the most Honorable Wilbur Pell with great good wishes and constant admiration. Scott Turow November 1993." A terrific association copy as the recipient was a longtime Judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the the Seventh Circuit. It would have been very likely that Turow would have tried cases in front of Judge Pell.
