Item #194995 For Whom The Bell Tolls. Ernest HEMINGWAY.

For Whom The Bell Tolls.

New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1940. First edition and first printing. Hardcover. 471 pages. One of the novels that helped further cement Hemingway's brilliant impact on American literature. The story of Robert Jordan and his travails while fighting in the Spanish Civil War. Made into a movie with Gary Cooper and Ingrid Bergman. A tight near fine copy with some of the usual darkening to the endpapers and in an about very good first issue dust jacket that has some small edge chips, light wear and some tears and some extensive (and largely unnecessary) tape repairs to the verso. Still, a very nice copy of this important book.
