Santa Barbara: El Mochuelo Gallery, 1964. First edition and first printing. Hardcover. The first major monograph on Callahan. One of only 1500 copies. Features a brief text by Hugo Weber. Includes 126 plates with many of the best images from the early portion of Callahan's career and some of the iconic photographs of his wife Eleanor. Also includes a bibliography by Bernard Karpel. A very good copy in black cloth boards with some light wear to the boards of the usual toning to the endpapers from the publisher's poor choice of glue and with the bookplate of photographer Joe Jachna to the front pastedown and in a very good plus slipcase with some scratches and minor wear. (Roth 168-169) A very nice copy with a solid provenance as Jachna was a student of Harry Callahan at Institute of Design in Chicago.
