New York: Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, 1975. First edition and first printing. Hardcover. A fascinating book which examines Isak Dinesen's and her companion Kamante's lives in Africa. Includes some color and numerous black and white photographs and illustrations. A clean and tight near fine copy with some of the usual wear to the edges of the boards and in a near fine dust jacket with a couple of small edge tears and some other minor wear. Still, a nicer than usual copy of the third book from Beard, whose first book, "The End of Game" is widely considered to be a masterpiece.
