Washington, DC: McGovern For President Committee, nd. Poster that measures 19.75" wide by 25.75" A campaign poster for the 1972 Presidential campaign of Senator George McGovern. Features his quote "we may not be able to change the past but we can helpt to shape the future." McGovern would go on to lose to Nixon in one of the more lopsided races in U.S. history. The poster features artwork and design by Thomas W. Benton who is perhaps best known for his iconic posters for Hunter S. Thompson's campaign for Sheriff of Aspen, Colorado. A near fine copy with some very minor wear. A very attractive poster that will be shipped rolled.
